THE OCEAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN WHERE I FIND MYSELF.

It is where I go to decompress, where everything slows down, and where I feel like myself again. It is my happy place.

There is a moment that happens almost every time. After a busy week, standing on the beach, I take a deep breath and just let go. Jason laughs because he knows it is coming. That feeling is hard to explain, but once you have felt it, you never forget it.

I grew up in Ontario, spending summers outdoors camping, swimming, and exploring. But I did not truly understand that feeling until I first saw the ocean in Nova Scotia. I remember saying: "Why isn’t everyone here all the time?" From that point on, the coast became more than a place. It became something I kept coming back to, every summer and every chance I had.

Years later, after paying off student loans, Jason and I made a decision that did not look like everyone else’s. Instead of waiting for someday, we chose to build a life we could enjoy now. That decision led us to our first place near Parlee Beach.

THE SHIFT

What started as a getaway quickly became something more.

From spring through fall, we would spend our weekends at Parlee Beach, leaving behind the noise of the week and stepping back into ourselves. Friends began visiting, and something interesting kept happening. Almost every single person would ask the same question. How do we get a place like this?

There was a point where life shifted. After years of building a career and a life I was proud of, I found myself starting over in a way I had not planned. Some days felt exciting. Other days felt uncertain.

But through it all, I kept coming back to the same place. The coast became where I went to think clearly, to reset, and to feel grounded again.

It was never just about the location.
It was always the feeling.
